Political films in Republic of Korea are a unique existence in the history of Korean films.They are not only loved by do-mestic audiences,but also recognized by audiences around the world.The formation of Korean political films as a film genre is in-fluenced by the history of South Korea,military rule,chaebol politics,and the special geographical location of the Korean Peninsu-la.Its narrative themes are also reflected in three aspects:the expression of national politics,the display of social class and the re-flection on the living environment.Behind these narrative theme are revealed the value propositions of Korean people to pursue the path of democracy and the awakening of Korean national consciousness.
