A Research on the Current Situation and Practical Path of Digital Protection of Longmen Grottoes
As a world heritage site,Longmen Grottoes feature a large-scale and exquisite group of sculptures,with rich content and a wide range of themes,showcasing typical characteristics of Eastern sculpture art.Having been excavated for over 1500 years,the sculptures within the grottoes are susceptible to external damage due to the unique materials used in their creation,often resulting in cracks and collapses in the caves and stone carvings.By digitally preserving Longmen Grottoes,we can better ensure the effective inheritance,utilization,and sharing of these invaluable resources,ultimately holding a crucial significance for the digital protection of grotto resources in China.Digital technology can play an important role in the preservation and inheritance of Longmen Grottoes by conveying more cultural information to the public and introducing new technological and innovative ways of dissemination,which can integrate with traditional historical and cultural resources to create a new cultural dissemination community.By exploring practi-cal paths under contemporary conditions,we aim to promote a more comprehensive protection,dissemination,and inheritance of the cultural and artistic resources of Longmen Grottoes.
