In view of the special conditions of slope collapse control engineering including the complicated surrounding environment, the limited supporting space and the urgent construction period,a new retaining structure, the light-type retaining wall with micropiles is proposed.Combined with a practical engineering, the structural design parametersand the main construction procedure are introduced in detail. On the basis of finite element numerical analysis method, the displacement distribution in the soils, the horizontal displacement and the internal forces distribution of the micropiles and the earth pressures acting on the retaining structures are investigated. The working mechanism and possible failure mode of this retaining structure are discussed as well. The results of the optimization analysis of design parameters suggest that the stiffness of micropiles and the number of anchors have great influence on the horizontal displacement distribution of the cantilever part. But it does not significantly change the displacement distribution law by blindly increasing the stiffness of the micropiles and the number of anchors.
