Study on the Characteristics of Efficient Conversion of Hydroxylamine and Nitrite by Klebsiella Oxytoca EN-B2
Hydroxylamine and nitrite are toxic to plants and animals, and can further endanger human health through polluted environment. In this study,a strain of Klebsiella oxytoca EN-B2 with efficiently ability to convert hydroxylamine and nitrite was used, which isolated in our previous study.Exploring the effects of environmental factors on the removal of hydroxylamine and nitrite. The results show that EN-B2 remov hydroxylamine, nitrite and total nitrogen most efficiently under the conditions of sodium succinate as carbon source,0.4×108 CFU/mL,carbon-nitrogen ratio(C/N)of 15,temperature of 25℃,rotation speed of 150 r/min and initial pH of 8.0.It with removal rates of 99.42%,100.00%and 87.76%,respectively.In addition, different concentrations of hydroxylamine were added to the nitrite system, and the effect of hydroxylamine on nitrite removal by strain EN-B2 was further explored. The results show when the concentration of hydroxylamine exceed 3 mg/L,as the concentration of hydroxylamine increase, the removal ability of EN-B2 decrease. This study is helpful for understanding the characteristics of Klebsiella Oxytoca EN-B2 in removing hydroxylamine and nitrite, which providing an important reference for the treatments of nitrogen contaminated wastewater.
