Research on the Synergy Between the Construction of"Waste-Free City"and the Dual Carbon Target in Guiyang
In order to explore the synergy between the construction of"waste-free city"and the realization of the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality,the main urban area of Guiyang City was taken as the research object.Based on the data from 2002 to 2021,the historical emissions of greenhouse gases in the treatment of domestic waste were calculated,and the driving factors affecting greenhouse gas emissions were determined by LMDI addition and decomposition method together with improved Kaya identity.Combined with Guiyang municipal solid waste management policy,the potential of mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions was predicted.The results show that from 2002 to 2021,the greenhouse gas emissions from municipal solid waste treatment in Guiyang city increased from 111 000 t to 688 000 t(measured as CO2),with an average annual growth rate of 10.08%.Sanitary landfill is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions.Economic output,population size,carbon emission intensity and urbanization rate are the main driving factors affecting Greenhouse Gas emissions from municipal solid waste(MSW)treatment.Compared with the baseline scenario,the greenhouse gas emission reduction potential of MSW classification,technology transformation and comprehensive scenario by 2035 will be 39.63%,50.28%and 72.94%,respectively.According to the implementation of the existing domestic waste treatment plan in Guiyang,the greenhouse gas generated by the domestic waste treatment field will peak before 2025.
