The Application of T Fracture in Fault Kinematics and Regional Tectonic Mineralization
Fault kinematics and regional geodynamic setting is an important part of field geological investi-gations,as well as the key to study regional tectonic deformation and mineralization.Due to the superimposed tectonic deformation during the geological history period, the kinematic properties of faults need to be confirmed by multiple geological evidence.Strike-slip faults developed various types of secondary ruptures during the rela-tive movement of the Fault plane, among which the T-rupture tendency represents the direction of the opposite plate movement, which is the most reliable in determining the direction of tectonic movement. In addition, the T rupture parallel to the regional principal compressive stress direction can effectively indicate the regional princi-pal stress direction,so it can be used as one of the important evidences to determine the nature of regional fault movement. In this paper, based on a large number of field tectonic geological investigations, combined with other fault kinematic signatures,a preliminary summary of the field use of T-rupture to identify faults developed in the Paleozoic-Mesozoic strata of Guizhou and to effectively reveal the nature of the movement of these faults is presented. The application of T-rupture in the analysis of regional tectonic control is summarized by combining the mechanical properties and geometrical characteristics of T-rupture and main shear rupture.
