Exploring the Integration of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture into College English Teaching under the Background of Smart Education
The rise of smart education has provided new perspectives and approaches to traditional educational instruction.Meanwhile,as the spiritual symbol and cultural DNA of the Chinese nation,the connotations and values of Chinese excellent traditional culture still hold significant contemporary relevance and historical worth.This study analyzes the significance and existing issues related to the integration of Chinese excellent traditional culture into college English teaching within the context of smart education.It examines the elements of Chinese excellent traditional culture that should be incorporated into teaching,the principles that should be followed,and takes the example of the Advanced English Reading(2)course for English undergraduates at the National Open University to explore pathways for integrating education on Chinese excellent traditional culture into college English teaching from aspects such as textbooks and curriculum design,teaching methods and means,and evaluation mechanisms.Practice has proven that by adopting a subtle and customized approach to teaching,and by constructing a reasonable teaching evaluation system,it is possible to cultivate students'English abilities while also nurturing their cultural literacy,enhancing their cultural confidence and sense of value identification.This is conducive to telling China's story well and spreading Chinese culture.
