Dilemmas and Breakthroughs:An Analysis of the Subjectivity of the Construction of Others by Others——On Yu Da-fu's"Sinking"and"Late Osmanthus Flowers"
Yu Da-fu's two short stories,"Sinking"and"Late Osmanthus Flowers",are respectively representative works of his early and late creation, and are regarded as classics in modern literature's"autobiographical"lyrical novels. In Yu Da-fu's short stories, there is a binary opposition between the"self"and the"other",which makes it difficult for the main image in his works——the"odd"to complete self-construction,and the subject moves towards division, alienation, and even destruction under the invasion of the other; At the same time,Yu Da-fu takes care of the desire subject generated by the other.Driven by the lack of desire, the remaining individuals use the body as a tool to fill the desire, while also displaying the metaphor of disease under the lack of desire.Using Lacan's theory of the other and desire to explore the causes of identity crisis and self seeking themes of the odd in Yu Da-fu's short stories, this reveals the passivity of the odd's self alienation in the other world,as well as the initiative demonstrated by self construction in the other world.
