Trap and Way-Out:Endless'Narrative of Marginal People
The movie Endless takes a closer look at marginalized groups in society.Language of camera is employed to present an ice-valley-like empty space, which is cramped and encroached,in an analogy to those people's misery of being discriminated and surpassed. However, their endless despair is gradually resolved by the spirit of dead fire,by which they find their way out. While the film depicts marginalized people's never-ending suffering as time flies on non-stop,it also pays tribute to the spirit of ever-live dead-fire.Thus,in the movie, past as a referent represents both the present time and the future, and documentary and imagination are interwoven to express expectation of future social space.
