A Study on the Development of an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Capability Scale for Hotel Management Students at Open Universities
With the rapid expansion of the hotel industry, the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities in hotel management students has garnered widespread attention in the field of higher education. However, there is a current lack of standardized assessment tools tailored to the educational characteristics of open universities. In light of this, the present study is dedicated to developing an assessment scale for the innovative and entrepreneurial abilities of hotel management students at open universities. The scale was constructed through a comprehensive literature review, expert consultations, and preliminary experimental results, and it underwent rigorous testing and refinement through Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA)and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA).The research methodology incorporated content analysis and case studies, and it collected 440 valid questionnaires to verify the reliability and validity of the scale. The scale ultimately established six dimensions, including target positioning, market insight, service innovation, and planning, confirming its reliability and validity in assessing students'innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities. The development of this scale not only provides empirical support for furthering hotel management education but also offers a quantitative assessment tool for both the educational and industrial sectors.
