Review on Extraction Technologies of Essential Oil from Plants
Extraction technologies have great importance to the quality of essential oil and full utilization of plant materials.8 kinds of essential oil extraction technologies which were frequently used in the lab or in the industry were summarized , including hydro distillation , steam distillation , simultaneous distillation extraction , cold pressing , supercritical CO2 extraction, subcritical water extraction , solvent-free microwave extraction and instant controlled pressure drop extraction.Advantages and disadvantages of these technologies were given as well as several tendencies in the extraction of essential oil .
