Effect of reinforcement stiffness on the performance of vertically reinforced re-taining wall
In order to study the effect of different reinforcement stiffness on the performance of the vertically rein-forced retaining wall and the distribution of its mechanical properties, the finite element numerical simulation soft-ware Plaxis was used to conduct numerical modeling of the vertically reinforced retaining wall of the block type and the reverse-cladding type respectively, and the reliable data of the reinforcement tension and the horizontal dis-placement of the surface were obtained. The research results show that the reinforcement tension and the horizontal displacement of the surface of the block type retaining wall are approximately trapezoidal along the wall height, while the reinforcement tension and the horizontal displacement of the surface of the reverse-cladding retaining wall are monotonically distributed along the wall height. The reinforcement tension increases with the increase of reinforce-ment stiffness, while the horizontal displacement of the surface decreases with the increase of reinforcement stiff-ness.In addition, compared with the block type retaining wall, reinforcement stiffness has a more significant effect on the mechanical properties of the reverse-cladding retaining wall.
