Study on Selection of Superior Families and Plant of Pinus massoniana
Growth condition of 16 years old Pinus massoniana forest was investigated by means of variance analysis, correlation analysis and cluster analysis to comprehensively evaluate the growth condition of Pinus massoniana from Guangdong and Guangxi province in Sanming city of Fujian province.12 very fast-growing families and 24 fast-growing families were screened out and evaluated by using K fast cluster analysis and families evaluation. 95 individual plants of the very fast-growing families and 101 individual plants of the fast-growing families were selected, they grow fast and the stem is fine. The results showed that there is significant difference of growth condition between Pinus massonianas from Guangdong and Guangxi province. The superior fast-growing individual plants can supply fine propagating materials for establishing Pinus massoniana plantations in Sanming city.
