To meet the demand for sugarcane varieties in the sugarcane industry and breed reserve for future sugarcane to produce fuel ethanol,the variety comparison test of planting and ratoon of 10 sugarcane varieties and Guitang11(CK)was conducted in order to understand characteristics of performance of the sugarcane varieties for sugar and energy in 2011-2012 in Guizhou.The results indicated that Guitang96/211,Qianzhe 06/212 and Dezhe 03/83 showed better comprehensive characters.Sugarcane stalk yield was 24.49%,29.89% and 25.45% higher than CK respectively.Sucrose content was 34.92%,38.92% and 37.08% higher than CK.The femmentable sugar content was 33.46%,38.63% and 39.31% higher than CK separately.Yield of sugarcane stem achieved more than 120 t/hm2 technical requirements of varieties of sugarcane for energy either.Both can popularized for the fine varieties of sugar sugarcane can also be developed for sugarcane of energy.Sucrose content of Ganzhe18, Qianzhe 06/89,Yunzhe 03/45 and Qianzhe 06/156 was 27.69%,25.15%,19.15% and 11.69% higher than CK,which can be popularized and utilized as the fine sugar sugarcane varieties.
