Evaluation on Salt Tolerance of Six Color-leafed Garden Plants
In order to provide basis and selection of salt-tolerant color-leafed garden tree species in coastal region, enrich garden plant species in high-salt coastal region, six color-leafed garden plants,Trachelospermu jasminoides,Photinia fraseri,Euonymus japonicas,Jasminum nudi florum,Abelia grandiflora and Lonicera nitida, were employed to set six treatments with various salt concentrations,so as to study on the variation of plant survival rate, relative growth in height and activities of SOD and POD.Results:Survival rate and relative growth in height of all the cultivars declined with salt concentration increasing in the range of 0.05%~0.75%.SOD activity showed an increasing trend.POD activity reached the peak when the salt concentration was 0.3%,and then declined with salt concentration increasing.According to the results, the sequence of salt tolerance of the six plants was L.nitida>J.nudiflorum,P.fraseri>E.japonicas,T.jasminoides>Abelia × grandi flora.
