SSR Analysis on 30 Sweet Potato Germplasm Resources Introduced to Hainan Area
To provide a theoretical basis for sweet potato introduction and new varieties cultivation in tropical region, through assessment of the agronomic traits, the authors selected 30 sweet potato germlines with good adaptability in Hainan area.In this study, the genetic diversity of these 30 sweet potato germlines was analyzed by SSR molecular marker technology, thus to clarify the genetic variation at DNA molecular level.Results:57 clear and reproducible SSR bands could be recorded according to the electrophoresis results of 11 pairs of SSR primers.Among them,53 were polymorphic bands, with an average of 5.18 bands per primer pair and the percentage of polymorphism up to 93.0%.the analysis of the genetic similarity and UPGMA clustering showed that coefficients of genetic similarity varied from 0.42to 0.96 with the mean of 0.62,indicating high genetic diversity.Using the genetic similarity value of 0.61 as the threshold, the 30 germlines were clustered into three clades.
