Effects of Drought Stress on Relative Water Content and Chlorophyll Content of Three Tea Cultivars
In order to study the relationship of drought resistance with relative water content and chlorophyll content, taking 1-year seedlings of three tea cultivars (Tezao 213,Mingshan 131,Fudingdabaicha) cultivated in Sichuan Province as the materials,a simulated drought stress test was conducted with water culture method and different concentration of polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG-6000).The results showed that the relative water content of tea seedlings leaves was significantly different amount different cultivars, different stress concentrations and different stress times. After 12 days of drought stress, the relative water content of tea seedlings leaves was Mingshan 131>Tezao 213>Fudingdabaicha.There were no significant differences in chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll amount the three cultivars, and the cultivars were significantly different under different stress concentrations and different stress times. In conclusion, the drought resistance of the three tea cultivars was Mingshan 131>Tezao 213>Fudingdabaicha.
