Breeding and Application of Guang 8 You 1090,a New Early-maturing Hybrid Rice Combination with Good Quality and High Yield
[Objective]The hybrid rice varieties with good quality,high yield and early maturity were bred to meet the needs of rice production in middle and high altitude areas of Guizhou Province.[Method]Through 12 generations of directional breeding in 6 years,a three-line indica hybrid rice Guang 8 You 1090 with good quality,high yield and early maturity was successfully bred by combining a rice sterile line Guang 8A and a restorer line Anhui 1090 by Anshun Academy of Agricultural Sciences,Rice Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Guangxi Zhaohe Seed Industry Co.,Ltd.It was approved by Guizhou Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2022(Approval No.:Qianshendao 20220017).[Result]In the regional test of early-maturity group of hybrid rice in Guizhou Province during 2020-2021,the two-year average yield was 10118.7 kg/hm2,which was 8.21%higher than that of CK(Xiangzaoyou 2017),and the cumulative ratio of two-year yield increment sites was 78.6%;The average growth period was 158.2 d,which was 1.9 d more than CK.The average yield in the production test in 2021 was 9482.7 kg/hm2,which was 9.45%higher than that of CK(Xiangzaoyou 2017),and the rate of yield increment sites was 100.0%.The brown rice rate,milled rice rate,head rice rate,grain length,length/width ratio,chalkiness grain rate,chalkiness degree,gel consistency,amylase content,alkali spreading value and transparency of Guang 8 You 1090 were respectively 79.6%,69.9%,62.5%,6.8 mm,3.4,25%,6.7%,82 mm,14.4%,4.5 and Grade 1;The comprehensive score of taste was 80.19,which was better than that of CK(80.0).[Conclusion]Guang 8 You 1090 has high and stable yield,strong cold tolerance,early maturity and good taste,which is suitable for planting in middle and high altitude areas of Guizhou Province.
