Effects of Strigolactone and Its Inhibitor on Bulblets Development of Lycoris radiata
[Objective]The effects of strigolactone(SL)and its inhibitor on the bulblets development of Lycoris radiata were explored, which provided reference for breeding method for Lycoris plants.[Method]The L.radiata bulblets were cut and soaked with different concentrations(1 μmol/L,5 μmol/L,10 μmol/L)of synthesized strigolactone(rac-GR24)and its inhibitor(Tis108).Through analyzing and comparing the morphology characteristics of the development process of small bulblets and the formation quantity and weight of bulblets after 60 days of treatment, the effects of strigolactone on bulblets development of L.radiata were determined.[Result]The rac-GR24 and Tis108 demonstrated different effects on the formation quantity and swelling speed of L.radiata bulblets.1 μmol/L rac-GR24 treatment induced the largest number of bulblets, and the reproduction coefficient reached 5.31.10 μmol/L Tis108 treatment resulted in the smallest number of bulblets, and the propagation coefficient was only 2.76.1 μmol/L Tis108 treatment led to the fastest bulblet swelling speed, and the average weight of new bulblets was 0.133 g at 60 days after treatment. There was no significant difference in bulblet swelling speed between 1 μmol/L,5 μmol/L,10 μmol/L rac-GR24 and CK.10 μmol/L Tis108 treatment had the slowest bulblet swelling speed, and the average weight of new bulblets was 0.026 g after 60 days of treatment.[Conclusion]The treatment of strigolactone and its inhibitor with low concentration is beneficial to the formation of L.radiata bulblets. The inhibitor for strigolactone with low concentration can significantly promote the weight gain of L.radiata bulblets.
