Effects of Chemical Fertilizer Reduction Combined with Garden Waste Compost on Growth,Yield and Soil Fertility of Pepper
[Objective]The effects of chemical fertilizer reduction combined with garden waste compost(GWC)on the yield and quality of pepper production and soil fertility were studied, which provided a basis for the high-efficient cultivation of pepper and the effective utilization of garden waste.[Method]The experiment was carried out by pot with Cayenne pepper as the research object to investigate the effects of no fertilization(CK),conventional fertilizer(CF),garden waste compost(GWC),reduced application of chemical fertilizers[reducing 10%(A1),reducing 30%(A2),reducing 50%(A3)]based on CF and increased application of garden waste compost based on reduced application of chemical fertilizers[reducing 10%chemical fertilizer and increase 10%GWC(B1),reduce 30%chemical fertilizer and increase 20%GWC(B2),reducing 50%chemical fertilizer and increase 30%GWC(B3)]on the quality and yield of pepper and soil fertility.[Result]The height of pepper plants at maturity stage increased to different degrees under different treatments, and was the highest under CF treatment(64.34 cm)and the lowest under CK treatment(25.04 cm),and among the treatments B2 and B3 were not significantly different from CF,but were significantly higher than CK.The pepper yield treated with B3 the highest(101.18 g/plant),while that of CK was the lowest(52.30 g/plant)in CK.There was no significant difference between B2 and B3,but they were significantly increased by140.22%and 138.58%,20.23%and 25.65%,and 44.91%and 51.45%compared with CK,CF and GWC,respectively.Applying garden waste compost on the basis of reducing chemical fertilizer could increase the content of soluble sugar, soluble protein and vitamin C of chilli to different degrees, reduce the content of nitrate(except for the treatment of B3),and effectively increase the content of soil nutrients and enzyme activity.Except for alkaline nitrogen and available potassium, all other soil fertility indicators were highest under B3 treatment, and B3 treatment was significantly higher than CF and GWC except for total potassium;Except for urease, the sucrase, phosphatase and catalase were all the highest under B3 treatment, and were significantly higher than CK,CF and GWC.The comprehensive score of nutritional quality of pepper treated with A1 was the highest(1.21 points),followed by B2(1.08 points).while that of CK was the lowest(-1.69 points).[Conclusion]Appropriate reducing chemical fertilizer dosage and simultaneously applying garden waste compost can effectively promote the growth of pepper, improve the quality, yield and soil fertility.Reducing 30%chemical fertilizer and increasing 20%garden waste compost has the best effect.
