Meteorological Characteristics of a Continuous Air Pollution Process
To explore the relationship between meteorological conditions and topography effect during continuous air pollution process in Bijie City, this paper applies correlation statistics and meteorological analysis methods to carry out the analysis on meteorological characteristics. The results show that air pollution in Bijie has increased in the last five years, and the number of pollution days in December 2023 is equal to the historical extreme value.During the continuous pollution process, the correlation coefficients of Bijie's AQI to daily rainfall, high temperature, and wind speed are-0.454,0.437,and-0.454,respectively,showing a moderate correlation. The pollution process in Bijie is characterized by temperature inversion. At 850 hPa,the forces of north wind and south wind are comparable in Bijie region, the thermal low pressure develops on the surface, and the surface wind speed is weak.Influenced by the north-south topography, the lifting and blocking effect of the two sides of the terrain makes the circulation of the ground airflow blocked,so that stable-static weather is more easy to occur in Bijie and cause an increase in the accumulation of pollutants. The research results of this paper make clear the meteorological factor characteristics of the continuous air pollution process in Bijie, and could provide a meteorological support basis for taking control measures in advance to improve the ambient air quality.
