Evaluation of the Applicability of Multi-source Fusion Precipitation Products in Disaster Hidden Spots in Guizhou
To provide more accurate grid precipitation data for disaster-prone areas in Guizhou during heavy rainfall events, combined with the regional heavy rainfall event on July 8,2023,a suitability assessment is conducted using monthly accumulated precipitation and hourly precipitation data from 285 disaster risk spots in Guizhou. This assessment focuses on three products:the Guizhou two-source hourly precipitation product(GZ_PRE_2S),the Guizhou three-source 10 min precipitation product(GZ_PRE_3S),and the multi-source analysis product with 1 km resolution from the National Meteorological Information Center(ART_1 km).The GZ_PRE_2S product integrates quality-controlled data from non-assessment stations in Guizhou and radar transmission data at different elevation angles, while the GZ_PRE_3S product combines quality-controlled data from non-assessment stations, radar transmission data and FY4A satellite data. The three fusion products all reflect the spatial distribution of precipitation basically. However, the ART_1 km and the Guizhou two-source fusion precipitation product significantly underestimate the precipitation at the center of heavy rainfall. The Guizhou three-source fusion precipitation product shows better monitoring capability for hourly heavy rainfall and can provide real-time services in heavy rainfall areas, although the monitoring of non-rainfall areas adjacent to heavy rainfall zones requires further improvement. The study results indicate that the Guizhou three-source precipitation product can provide more accurate grid precipitation data for disaster-prone areas during heavy rainfall events.
