Impact of Resistance Combined with Core Strength Training on Obese Male College Students——A Case Study of Guangzhou City Polytechnic
In order to explore and analyze the effect of resistance combined with core strength training on weight loss of obese male college students,38 obese male freshmen from Guangzhou City Polytechnic were selected as research objects and randomly divided into exercise intervention group and control group.The exercise intervention group received resistance combined with core strength training for 16 weeks,while the control group did not implement exercise intervention.Body mass index,waist-to-hip ratio and body fat percentage were measured before and after the experiment.The results showed that after 16 weeks of exercise intervention,the body mass index,waist-hip ratio and body fat percentage of the subjects were significantly decreased,and the three indexes in the exercise intervention group were significantly different before and after intervention(P<0.01).The posttest scores of body mass index,waist-hip ratio and body fat percentage in the exercise intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and there were significant differences(the first and the third indexes P<0.01,the second index P<0.05).This indicates that the combination of resistance and core strength training can reduce the body mass index,waist-hip ratio and body fat percentage of obese male college students,which can achieve the purpose of fat reduction and is conducive to the healthy development of physique.
