Effects of different doses of Edoxaban on liver and kidney function in elderly patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation
Objective:To investigate the effects of different doses of Edoxaban on liver and kidney function in elderly patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Methods:A total of 118 elderly patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation in our hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected and divided into group A(n=59)and group B(n=59)according to random number method.Patients in group A were treated with high-dose(60 mg/d)Edoxaban,and patients in group B were treated with low-dose(30 mg/d)Edoxaban.Group A was then divided into robust group A(n=30),pre-debilitation group A(n=11)and debilitation group A(n=18)according to SHARE-FI score.Group B was divided into robust group B(n=31),pre-asthenic group B(n=12),and asthenic group B(n=16).The changes of liver and kidney function in robust group A and robust group B,pre-asthenic group A and pre-asthenic group B,asthenic group A and asthenic group B were evaluated. Results:There were no significant differences in ALT,BUN and Scr between healthy group A and healthy group B before and after treatment(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in ALT,BUN and Scr between group A and group B before treatment(P>0.05),but ALT,BUN and Scr in group A were significantly higher than those in group B after treatment(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in ALT,BUN and Scr between group A and group B before treatment(P>0.05).ALT,BUN and Scr in group A after treatment were significantly higher than those in group B before treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:High-dose(60 mg/d)and low-dose(30 mg/d)Edoxaban have similar effects on liver and kidney function in healthy elderly patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. The effect of large dose of Edoxaban on liver and kidney function in patients with pre-asthenia and asthenia stage is smaller,so small dose of Edoxaban can be given to patients with pre-asthenia and asthenia stage to reduce the damage to liver and kidney function.
