Correlation of the Date of Conception and Date of Birth with the Prevalence of Parkinson's Disease
Objective To investigate the correlation of the circuit-qi features at the date of conception and on birthday with the prevalence of Parkinson's disease(PD).Methods The clinical data of 850 patients with PD who were hospitalized in the department of neurology or attended outpatient clinics of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from January 20,2012 to January 20,2023 were collected, and then the distribution of the five circuits and six qi at the date of conception and on birthday of the PD patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results Statistically significant differences were shown in the distribution of the dominant qi at the date of conception and on birthday of the 850 PD patients(P<0.05).The dominant qi at the date of conception was predominated by jueyin wind-wood and taiyang cold-water,while the dominant qi on birthday was predominated by yangming dryness-gold.The distribution of dominant qi at the date of conception-dominant qi on birthday was predominated by jueyin wind-wood and yangming dryness-gold,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).However,no statistically significant differences were shown in the distribution of yearly circuit,sitian-zaiquan yearly circuit qi,guest qi,and guest qi combined with dominant qi at the date of conception and on birthday of the 850 PD patients(P>0.05).Conclusion The circuit-qi features at the date of conception and on birthday exerts an impact on the prevalence of PD,which may be related to the pathogenesis of liver injury due to lung dryness.
