Effects of hybrid fibers on the performance of aerated concrete
In the report,in order to study the effects of hybrid fibers on the properties of aerated concrete,poly-propylene fiber(PP)and basalt fiber(BF)were selected, and the fluidity, dry density, compressive strength, flexural strength, and drying shrinkage of aerated concrete were determined to analyze the effects of fiber content and type on the properties of aerated concrete, and the scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize the microscopic morphology of aerated concrete. The results indicated that with the increase of fiber content, the fluidity of aerated concrete slurry decreases, the dry density increases, the stress tolerance and flexural strength firstly increase and then decrease, the inclusion of fibers reduces the drying shrinkage of aerated concrete. The fibers do not react with the aerated concrete matrix, and when the aerated concrete cracked, the polypropylene fibers are pulled out from the aerated concrete matrix, while the basalt fibers are corroded in the alkaline matrix and fractured together with the aerated concrete matrix under the action of external force.
