The Spatial Distribution and Pollution Assessment of Heavy Metals in the Surface Sediments of Bamenwan mangrove wetland, Hainan Island
This paper analyzed the content and seasonal distribution characteristics of heavy metals in the surface sedi?ments of Bamenwan mangrove wetland, Hainan Island, and evaluated the pollution and ecological risk of these heavy metals by Enrichment coefficient method and Hakanson potential ecological risk index method. The results showed that Cd, As, oth?er metals in sediments did not significantly enrich and accumulate. Heavy metal potential ecological risk index (RI∈(148.17,799.66))in the wetlands, was in a high level in terms of ecological risk as a whole. Among these ecological risk Cd has the greatest potential ecological risks and As was slightly lower with the other five kinds of heavy metals Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn and Pb of only slight ecological risk. There is some area of wetlands and deposition of heavy metals enrichment"gathering ar?ea"and therefore in the process of governance to protect the wetlands、heavy metal"gathering area"should be concerned about, and Cd and As should be particularly focused in sediment monitoring.
