Progress on the Structural Characterization and Antitumor Activity of Dendrobium Polysaccharide
Dendrobium is a Chinese medicinal herb with extremely high medicinal value.Polysaccharides are the main components of Dendrobium,which have various biological activities such as anti-tumor,antioxidant,hypoglycemic,and im-mune enhancement.This article aims to comprehensively summarize the current research progress on the structural charac-teristics of Dendrobium polysaccharides,and deeply analyze the various mechanisms of their anti-tumor activity,especially the structure-activity relationship between polysaccharide molecular structure and its biological activity.Through this anal-ysis,a scientific foundation is laid for the further application of Dendrobium polysaccharides in the development of anti-tu-mor drugs.This article systematically reviews the research results on the structural characteristics of Dendrobium polysac-charides in recent years,including their main monosaccharide composition,molecular weight distribution,glycosidic bond types,branching structures,and the presence of acetyl groups.At the same time,the anti-tumor activity of Dendrobium polysaccharides was elaborated through three main pathways:direct inhibition of tumor cell growth,regulation of immune response,and synergistic effect with anticancer drugs.In addition,the intrinsic relationship between the structural charac-teristics of polysaccharides and their anti-tumor activity was also explored.The research result can provide assistance for the research and development of Dendrobium polysaccharide related drugs in the field of tumor treatment in the future.
