Research progress on the mechanism of action of Biglycan in bone degenerative diseases
Biglycan is a recently discovered small leucine-rich proteoglycan, widely found in various connective tissues. It has a key role in many organs and systems, and leads to the occurrence and development of a variety of diseases by participating in the whole process of cell growth and apoptosis. In recent years, with the deepening of research,Biglycan has been confirmed to lead to the occurrence and development of bone degenerative diseases by regulating the expression of extracellular matrix, inhibiting the differentiation of osteoblasts and promoting the activation of osteoclast precursor cells. This article aims to provide new ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment activities by elaborating the role of Biglycan in bone degenerative diseases(Osteoporosis,Osteoar-thritis,and Intervertebral disc degeneration).
