Construction of Pediatric Medication Decision Support Platform and Analy-sis of Practical Results
OBJECTIVE A prescription pre-review system was utilized to develop a pediatric medication deci-sion support platform, which was subsequently evaluated for its efficacy in pediatric patients.METHODS The pres-ent study involves the extraction of extensive prescription data from our hospital, with the aim of establishing a com-prehensive drug knowledge base and developing a pediatric drug decision support platform. To assess the effectiveness of this platform, prescription data from the pediatric outpatient department were collected for the years 2021 and 2022,specifically focusing on the evaluation of its implementation.RESULTS A pediatric medication decision sup-port platform was developed, resulting in an increase in the number of pre-examination prescriptions within our hospi-tal's pediatric outpatient prescription system.Additionally, there was a notable decrease in the number of pre-exami-nation problem prescriptions and rigid interception prescriptions. The qualified rate of prescriptions also experienced a positive shift, rising from 77.43%in 2021 to 86.40%in 2022,while the occurrence of irrational prescriptions de-creased.CONCLUSION The construction and implementation of pediatric medication decision support platform significantly improved the quality of pediatric prescription and rational drug use.
