OBJECTIVE To test two rapid method for determination of sulfur dioxide residue in Chinese medic-inal herbs and compare their applicability.METHODS Examine the accuracy and feasibility of Kjeldahl Nitrogen Analyzer and rapid detection kit for determination of sulfur dioxide in Chinese medicinal herbs.RESULTS The re-sults of sample determination were basically consistent with those of Chinese pharmacopoeia(2020 edition).CONCLUSION The results of Kjeldahl nitrometer titration are accurate,and can be used to detect sulfur dioxide residues in some Chinese medicinal materials.It has the characteristics of simple,rapid and accurate.However,the application ratio of the test results of the rapid detection kit is low.
