Pharmacologic Practice and Analysis of Clinical Pharmacists'Participation in Preventing Thromboembolism after Orthopedic Surgery
OBJECTIVE To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in preventing thromboembolism after ortho-pedic surgery.METHODS Through the analysis of the pharmacy practice of 3 cases of clinical pharmacists partici-pating in the prevention of thromboembolism after orthopedic surgery,it is understood how clinical pharmacists use their professional knowledge and pharmaceutical care to assist clinicians in the prevention of thromboembolism in pa-tients after orthopedic surgery from various stages and angles.RESULTS Clinical pharmacists use their professional and systematic pharmaceutical knowledge to make comprehensive assessments of patients'age,past medical history,condition,drug use and other aspects,and formulate individualized anticoagulation programs for patients.From admis-sion to postoperative and discharge,they assist clinicians to observe,supervise and serve patients throughout the process,so as to achieve the best preventive effect of thromboembolism.CONCLUSION Clinical pharmacists play an indispensable role in the prevention of thromboembolism in orthopedic postoperative patients.By using their pro-fessional knowledge and providing pharmaceutical care,they can assist clinicians to reduce the incidence of thrombo-embolism in orthopedic postoperative patients.
