Clinical Pharmacists Participated in the Practice of Using Antithrombotic Drugs in a Patient Undergoing Mitral Valve Clamping
OBJECTIVE To provide individualized medication guidance for patients with mitral regurgitation af-ter Mitral Valve Clamping(MitraClip).METHODS Clinical pharmacists participated in the course of postoperative antithrombotic drug treatment of a patient with mitral regurgitation undergoing MitraClip surgery, analyzed and select-ed the antithrombotic drug scheme of the patient, gave medication guidance and pharmaceutical care, and carried out medication education.RESULTS MitraClip operation belongs to interventional therapy of heart disease, and the ra-tional use of antithrombotic drugs after operation is very important to reduce the risk of postoperative complications such as thrombosis, stroke and systemic embolism. The patient had no indication of anticoagulation in the past,so the clinical pharmacist suggested to start the dual antiplatelet treatment scheme, and the doctor adopted the sugges-tion.No adverse events such as embolism or bleeding occurred during hospitalization.CONCLUSION At present, there is no guideline or consensus on standard antithrombotic therapy for MitraClip surgery at home and a-broad.Clinical pharmacists should provide patients with individualized antithrombotic drugs according to their own embolism risk and bleeding risk.
