A Case of Salmonella Group C Invasive Liver Abscess with Diarrhea as the Initial Manifestation and Literature Review
OBJECTIVE To explore the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of invasive liver ab-scess caused by Salmonella group C.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of a patient with Salmonella C invasive liver abscess with diarrhea as the initial manifestation, and relevant literature was reviewed.RESULTS A 52-year-old man,had acute onset without clear cause of diarrhea and accompanied by fe-ver.The stool, drainage fluid, and blood culture were all Salmonella group C.confirmed as invasive liver ab-scess.After percutaneous transhepatic drainage combined with meropenem anti infection treatment, the body tempera-ture returned to normal, and the inflammatory indicators decreased significantly.CONCLUSION Invasive Salmo-nella C liver abscess is relatively rare in clinical practice, with diarrhea as the initial manifestation is prone to misdi-agnosis and delayed treatment.Standardized treatment can achieve good results.
