Study on the Current Status of Pharmaceutical Management and Services in Primary Healthcare Institutions in Hangzhou City
OBJECTIVE To provide a basis for improving the pharmaceutical management and service level of primary healthcare institutions.METHODS We used Wechat and the questionnaire tool"QuestionStar"to gather information on the pharmaceutical management organization,pharmacist team construction,pharmacy department set-up,clinical pharmacist placement,and drug usage in some primary healthcare institutions in Hangzhou.The collected data was then statistically analyzed.RESULTS A total of 216 valid questionnaires were received.29.17%of the institutions had established pharmaceutical management and pharmacotherapy committees.All pharmacy department personnel were professionals in the field of pharmacy.No full-time clinical pharmacists were found.The expenditure on the procurement and utilization of essential drugs by the national government accounted for more than 40%in all surveyed primary healthcare institutions.CONCLUSION The education level and professional titles of pharmacy personnel in primary healthcare institutions have significantly improved compared to the past,with reasonable distri-bution of titles and ages.However,there are still some issues that need attention,including the establishment of com-prehensive pharmaceutical management organizations,the urgent need for improvement in basic hardware infrastruc-ture in primary healthcare institutions,and the emphasis on clinical pharmaceutical services.
