A Case of Severe Allergic Reaction Caused by Meropenem
A patient with ureteral calculus complicated with severe infection was hospitalized and treated with meropenem for anti-infection therapy.The patient had cyanosis,chills,tremors,palpitations and shortness of breath at 20 minutes after the first does.The blood pressure was 186/138 mmHg,the heart rate was 105 times/min and the res-piration rate was 33 times/min.The diagnosis was an severe allergic reaction.The drug was stopped and the patient was treated with dexamethasone and furosemide injections.The patient's symptoms was alleviated by symptomatic treatment after 40 minutes.By correlation analysis,the causal relationship between the severe allergic reaction and meropenem was evaluated as"very possible".
