Application of Dexmedetomidine in Controlled Analgesia after Hip Arthro-plasty
OBJECTIVE To investigate the efficacy of dexmedetomidine(DEX)in controlled analgesia after total hip arthroplasty(THA).METHODS A total of 86 elderly patients treated with THA in our hospital from Feb-ruary 2021 to January 2023 were divided into two groups with 43 cases in each group by random number table meth-od.All patients were treated with THA,the control group was treated with butorphanol controlled intravenous analge-sia(PCIA),and the observation group was treated with DEX combined with Butorphanol PCIA.Pain degree, sedation effect, biochemical indexes and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.RESULTS Visual ana-logue scale(VAS)and Ramsay score at 6 h and 12 h were lower in the observation group than in the control group.Post-operation,the levels of Substance P(SP)and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)were elevated in both groups.Notably, the group observed showed a reduction compared to the control group, with a lower frequency of ad-verse reactions in the observation group as opposed to the control group,a difference statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The combination of DEX and butorphanol is secure and efficient for treating PCIA in older patients post-THA.It can provide good analgesic and sedative effects, reduce the release of SP and 5-HT,and have few adverse reactions.
