Pharmaceutical Care of Severe Thrombocytopenia Possibly Caused by Ceftazidime:A Case Report
One 71-year-old female Patient was admitted to the emergency department for"detected skin spots,o-ral bleeding and severe thrombocytopenia".Relevant tests and bone marrow puncture were improved to exclude the common causes of thrombocytopenia. The clinical pharmacist learned that the patient had a recent history of anti-in-fectious drugs,so he contacted the patient's family doctor to review the recent treatment and medication records, and conducted evidence-based analysis, suggesting that the patient's severe thrombocytopenia might be related to the anti-infectious drug"ceftazidime".On treatment, gamma globulin and methylprednisolone were treated, and ascending platelet treatment such as thrombopoietin and platelet transfusion were jointly used.Five days later, the patient re-turned to normal platelets and was discharged smoothly.
