Analysis of Spontaneous Reports on Adverse Reactions Related to Car-bapenem Antibacterial Drugs
OBJECTIVE To comprehend the situation and characteristics of adverse reactions associated with carbapenem antibacterial drugs, and to provide a reference for safe clinical drug use.METHODS Spontaneous ad-verse reaction reports pertaining to this drug type, collected from January 2020 to December 2023 in our city, were re-trieved and subjected to retrospective analysis.RESULTS A total of 162 valid adverse reaction reports of carbapen-em antibacterial drugs were received from 11 medical institutions, encompassing four drugs:imipenem, meropenem, ertapenem, and biapenem, affecting 11 systems/organs.There were 85 cases of general ADR and 96 cases of severe ADR.Common ADRs were observed in the nervous and digestive systems. The elderly and children under 10 years of age were more susceptible.ADRs typically occurred within three days of medication administration.Severe ADRs could lead to prolonged hospital stays.CONCLUSION In clinical use of these drugs, clear indications for drug use should be established. For patients with renal insufficiency, adjustments to the dose or interval should be made.Caution should be exercised when administering to those with central nervous system diseases.Special popula-tions,particularly elderly patients, should be vigilant in monitoring the occurrence of ADRs and strengthen monitoring during the initial three days of medication.
