Research on fatigue deformation and reinforcement methods of steel box beam welds
In order to understand the fatigue deformation performance of the longitudinal and transverse rib welds of steel box beams, numerical simulation and theoretical calculation were used to evaluate the fatigue performance of the steel box beam welds. The results showed that under cyclic loading with a stress ratio of 0,stress redistribution did not occur in the weld.Under a stress ratio of-1,when the loading amplitude reached 5 times, stress redistribution occured in the weld. After redistribution, the arc notch of the weld was the most unfavorable stress state. At this stress ratio, the fatigue life of the steel box beam weld was 25.64 years. The crack depth of the arc-shaped notch increases rapidly after the fatigue load exceeds 1.5 million cycles, while the crack depth of the U-rib weld toe increases linearly with the number of cycles. The crack depth of the U-rib weld toe after 3.5 million cycles was equal to the crack depth of the arc-shaped notch after 1.65 million cycles. The reinforcement effect of pasting angle steel method was better than that of STC pavement reinforcement method, which could improve the stress on the arc cut and U-rib weld toe, thereby inhibiting the propagation of cracks.
