Effect of welding current on microstructure and mechanical properties of 6061 aluminum alloy welded joint
The microstructure and mechanical properties of 6061 aluminum alloy were studied through the metallographic microscope,X-ray diffractometer, universal testing machine and microhardness tester using AC TIG with 100~150 A current. The results showed that with the increase of welding current, the grain at the weld increased and changed from columnar to equiaxed. The phase analysis showed that the welded joint of 6061 aluminum alloy mainly contained α-Al,Mg2Si,Al6Mn.The tensile strength and hardness of welded joint first increased and then decreased with the increase of welding current, and the tensile strength and elongation of the welded joint were the best at 120 A.At the same time, the composition of the weld was uniform at 120 A,and the hardening phase was generated to make the hardness of the weld zone reach the maximum.
