In the 1920s and 1930s,Lu Maode lectured on Ancient Chinese History at Tsinghua University,Beijing Normal University and other universities.The lecture notes were distributed in the form of mimeographed and printed copies,divided into two volumes,with a total of 18 chapters,narrating the main historical events from prehistoric society to the unification of the six states by the Qin dynasty.Through the introspection of the trend of thought of doubting the ancient history,Lu Maode advocated the way of studying the history of archaeology.From the standpoint of seeking truth in judgment,Lu Maude tried to seek truth in the textual research of classics.In the textual research methods,he utilized three-level textual research of"earth,time,people"on the materials of ancient history.Lu Maode's path of governing history and his approach to compiling historical materials provide valuable reference and inspiration for the current study of ancient history.
