Diagnosis and Operative Treatment of 20 Cases of Oblique Inguinal Fat Hernia
Objective To investigate the diagnosis and surgical treatment methods of oblique inguinal fat hernia(OIFH).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 20 patients with OIFH who underwent surgery. Results Among the eight cases treated with open surgery, all were diagnosed postoperatively as complex oblique inguinal fat hernias(COIFH).Among the 12 cases treated with laparoscopic surgery, four were diagnosed as simple oblique inguinal fat hernia(SOIFH),and eight as COIFH.The preoperative ultrasound diagnostic concordance rate was 95.0%(19/20),while the multi-slice spiral CT diagnostic concordance rate was 85.7%(12/14).Postoperative complications includ-ed seroma in two cases, which were treated with aspiration and compression bandaging, and mild local numbness in three cases, which resolved within three months.During one to three years of follow-up,no hernia recurrence was observed in either the open or laparoscopic surgery group. Conclusion Ultrasound and multi-slice spiral CT are commonly used as auxiliary examination methods.Laparoscopic technology is the gold standard for the diagnosis of OIFH and is also the preferred method for surgical treatment.
