As a practical method of mineral exploration,the concept of"prospecting nearby the large deposits"has been proposed for nearly a hundred years.This concept has been elevated to a theoretical level for forty years by Zhu Xun and has been widely applied and developed in mineral exploration.This article discusses the role and significance of this theo-ry in the 20th national class Wudang-Tongbai-Dabie metallogenic belt from multiple perspectives including the proposal and demonstration,planning and deployment,organization and implementation,exploration process,and important a-chievements.At the launch and implementation of a new round of breakthrough action in mineral exploration,the practical significance of this theory will become more prominent.
