Drinking water safety is related to the life, health, and safety of the people. This study focuses on the current water shortage situation in Yingshan County in 2022.Based on the Drive Pressure State Response(DPSR)model,a drinking water safety evaluation index system is constructed. The entropy weight method,TOPSIS method, and obstacle degree model are used to analyze the rural drinking water safety status of 11 townships, clarifying the spatial distribution pattern and improvement direction of drinking water safety types in Yingshan County. The results show that the overall drinking water safety in rural areas of 11 townships in Yingshan County is unsafe, mainly caused by state and pressure system of drinking water safety status. The main obstacles affecting the drinking water safety in Yingshan County are the proportion of water area and forest coverage. Therefore,in order to protect the drinking water safety in rural areas of Ying-shan County,it is necessary to strengthen the construction and protection of reservoir type water sources and water conser-vation areas. The dominant obstacle factors in each township of Yingshan County are similar and different, and different measures need to be taken for different townships to improve the drinking water safety level of each township.
