Valleys, depressions and other low-lying areas are usually the preferred places for urban waste accumulation, and under special terrain conditions, they often form"big bellies, small outlets"scoop-shaped slag piles.Due to the con-straints of the spoon-shaped terrain, the main profile can no longer reflect the true stress state of this type of spoon-shaped side slope. This paper selects the Hong'ao landslide in Shenzhen City as the research object and proposes a multiple pro-files stability analysis method based on residual thrust method. The results show that, with the continuous increase of slag accumulation, the distribution range of shear stress inside the slag body continues to expand, and stress concentration phe-nomena continue to form at the leading edge and bundle mouth of the slag body.Under the same working conditions, the stability coefficient obtained by the multiple profiles method is closer to the true stability state of this type of slag pile. The special terrain conditions and material composition are the inherent reasons for the stress concentration phenomenon in this type of spoon-shaped side slope. Therefore, the multiple profiles stability analysis method is more likely to reveal the spoon-shaped side slope that appears stable but actually carries a greater risk of instability, providing new methods and i-deas for practical engineering.
