Debris flow disasters are more developed in the central-southern Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.It is of great signifi-cance to strengthen the study of debris flow characteristics and prevent its occurrence to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.Taking the Southern Manigang debris flow in Nimu County in Xizang as the research object,through satellite image interpretation,field investigation,laboratory and field tests,the formation conditions of debris flow are analyzed and the dynamic characteristic values are calculated,then the susceptibility and development trend of debris flow are evalua-ted,and the corresponding prevention and control countermeasures are put forward.The results show that the dynamic re-serves of provenance in the debris flow gully are 3.13×104 m3,and the provenance types are slope erosion source,chan-nel erosion source and channel erosion source.The average longitudinal slope of the debris flow gully is 478.5‰,and the relative height difference is 540 m,so the debris flow gully has the characteristics of large longitudinal slope ratio,fast flow velocity,strong hydrodynamic force,strong carrying capacity and rich source supply along the way,and it is a typical low-frequency and sparse debris flow gully.The degree of susceptibility of the debris flow gully is medium,and it is in the development period(prime period).Especially under the condition of heavy rainfall in the rainy season,the possibility of debris flow disaster is still large.Therefore,the comprehensive engineering prevention and treatment suggestions of"cleaning+ecological slope stabilization,blocking,silting and drainage"are put forward.
