Sub-synchronous/super-synchronous oscillations may occur in a grid-connected direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous generators(PMSGs)wind farm.In order to explore the essence of this phenomenon, this paper has carried on a series of studies around grid-connected PMSG wind farms.Firstly,we established a simplified mathe-matical model of a single PMSG for Sub-synchronous and super-synchronous oscillation phenomena. Then,we solved the characteristic equation of multi-PMSGs wind farm grid-connected system by combining the equivalent order reduc-tion method of wind farm, and obtained the stability criterions of wind farm in grid-connected system under various fre-quency scenarios by using Routh-Hurwitz criterion, which explaining the influence of operation parameters on the sta-bility of grid-connected system from the mechanism. Finally, the stability criterion under the equivalent reduced-order model of wind farm proposed in this paper was proved to be feasible and effective through an extensible PMSGs wind farm grid-connected system, and we intuitively discussed the influence of the number of PMSGs and the equivalent re-actance of long lines on the stability of grid-connected system.
