Effect of Vibration on Partial Discharge Inception Characteristics of Needle-plate Electrode under AC Voltage
High-voltage power apparatuses are often accompanied by continuous mechanical vibration during operation. In order to explore the effect of vibration on the partial discharge inception characteristics under extremely inhomoge-neous electric field,we built a test platform for partial discharge of needle-plate electrode under vibration conditions in the air,and collected the partial discharge signals of the inception discharge process. And we investigated the influence of electrode gap, amplitude and vibration frequency on partial discharge inception process under the power-frequency voltage. The results show that with the increase of the amplitude, the maximum electric field strength increases and the collision ionization process intensifies, the incipient discharge voltage decreases, the number of negative half-cycle dis-charges and the discharge volume increase, and the phase of positive and negative half-cycle discharges expand. As the electrode spacing increases, the impact of vibration on the unevenness of the electric field decreases, and the effect of vibration on inception discharge process of the negative half-cycle is gradually weakened. The vibration frequency af-fects the duration of high electric field within corona inception section, and the higher the vibration frequency, the smaller the maximum kinetic energy of charged particles, the weaker the collision ionization process, and the lower the intensity of discharge.
