Hierarchical Control Strategy of Combined Fire Storage System Regarding Frequency Modulation Performance and Battery Life
With the vigorous development of new energy,it is difficult to meet the increasing frequency modulation de-mand of power system only by improving the frequency modulation capacity of thermal power units.In order to improve the response ability of automatic Generation control(AGC),we proposed a hierarchical control strategy of combined fire storage system regarding frequency modulation performance and battery life.The upper level control strategy aims at improving AGC response capacity,we divided the frequency modulation process of the combined fire storage system into three periods:initial response period,climbing period and stable period,and calculated the target output of the hybrid energy storage system in different periods.The lower level control strategy aims at reducing the life loss of energy stor-age battery,and we established the target output distribution model of hybrid energy storage system.The control strate-gy was simulated and calculated based on MATLAB/SIMULINK.Compared with the conventional control strategy,the frequency modulation effect of the layered control strategy was increased by 14.2%,the battery life loss was decreased by 37.3%,and the AGC service compensation income of the combined fire and storage system was increased by 23%,which greatly enhance the AGC response ability of thermal power units and improve the economic efficiency of power station operation.
